If I was in your position I'd get the Fiesta ST hands down.

Agreed. Amazing car. Drove one Thursday.

Unless you need the extra practicality of the Focus, I also say get the Fiesta.

Agreed! Its the better choice and they are also going below invoice even on auto trader.

Damn I need to get myself one of these fast.

Yup! In September there were about 6 or so Focus STs at my local ford dealership. Ended up getting a blue ST2 with nav and sunroof for 24 flat (before tax and title) MSRP was $28,570. I went back 2 weeks ago for the first oil change, and they didn't have any focus STs on the lot.

They're both pretty special. I'm not sure Ford will be so keen to give us ST versions in the next generation with the way dealers are sitting on these for months, but we'll see. I think we'll be looking back fondly at them the way we do some of the limited sports models from the 80s.

I should also add I've driven both, so I'm not just talking out of my ass.

They're definitely future classics. I see them being relatively magical cheap/easy to maintain starter rally/track cars.

There is so much margin since this isn't a special engine. Its the same as the Escape/Fusion(w/manual only) just with over boost basically. Making it a killer deal.

the same applies to the Focus as well.

If I remember correctly, the combination I want (Xenon and Recaro) is not possible. Lame.

I have driven these on several occasions and I am always amazed by how quick the steering is.

What exactly do you have in your sweet garage? The SLS, AE86, and the E30 M3?

why the Fiesta over the Focus?

Why?

The community as a whole considers the Fiesta a better handling, overall more fun car.

Drove both, liked the Fiesta more.

Nah, the one I drove today had Recaros with xenons.

I can't get it with matching Tangerine Scream seats :(
![]() 02/01/2014 at 23:06 |

Yeah, you have to get full leather black Recaros. It's weird.

I had an ST before (2007) that had red seat inserts that matched the exterior. Looked really freakin' sweet.
Stupid stuff like having to dropping Xenons to get dual color Recaros is so stupid. Grouping options in packages always annoyed me and this is kind of the same thing.

Um... can you elaborate?
I've driven the Focus ST. Haven't tried Fiesta ST yet. Need to.

Focus seems much bulkier and the clutch is very unforgiving.

I got my ST that MSRP'd at 26k for 21k and 0% in August. sub $25k has always been achievable and makes the car that much better bang for your buck.
